Razor #1 was crafted from a special Tungsten Steel hardened to 64HRC (!). This steel requires an intensive heat treatment, including heating up the blade to 820°C and cooling in electrical oven during 17 hours to 650°C ( 10°C down per hour ) after each forging ( two times ), for stress removal and micro crack prevention .**
Razor #2 in the standard Bohler R100 high carbon steel which is an extremely high quality and fine-grained steel.**
Each razor blank is hand forged into shape and then hardened to 61HRC and hand ground and polished. The 8/8 blades shown here measure 1 1/16" in width with a spine thickness of 1/4".
Hand honed to a extremely sharp & smooth edge, you will find that each blade has a very thin even bevel, a testament to the fine grind quality.
