Yo agarro la maquinilla un dedo por debajo de la rosca, es decir casi pegado a la base del cabezal, por eso a mí me da exactamente igual lo que mida el mago.

Normalmente todas las de AC por la parte media, pero si pesa mucho por abajo del todo y sin apretar nada.
La Sensor3 por la parte de arriba, y no me preguntes el porqué porque no lo sé, pues lo único que se es que empiezo agarrando casi por abajo y al poco la estoy estrangulando, y no es por apretarla porque no la aprieto lo más mínimo, de echo si no fuera por la nostalgia del afeitado clásico la usaría el 100% de las veces de lo bien que me funciona con ciertos jabones. ( Y eso que cuando me metí en esto y lo probé, juré por todo lo habido y por haber que jamás me volvería a afeitar con una desechable, pero…).

Las doble filo por la parte media.
En cambio las desechables, las agarro muy cerca del cabezal.

Pues yo la agarro por la parte inferior todos los pases. Con el Ufo Colibrí de 80, me sorprendió gratamente al hacer el trabajo toda la maquinilla ya que es el mango mas corto que tengo. De esta manera la maquinilla al no darle presión me canta antes de que haya un enganchon o corte y la perfilacion de patillas me es mas fácil.
Siempre maquinillas de doble filo.

Yo andaba planteando algo parecido, yo curisoamente la agarro más cerca del cabezal que de la parte media o final del mango, creo que así me da mas sensación de control

Yo he comprado la Razorock Mamba, esta por llegarme, de Italian Barber, pues bien, en el mango tiene roscado al final del mismo un crontrapeso que se puede quitar o poner, medira cerca de 1 cm, es muy curioso, ya lo enseñare en compras cuando llegue la maquinilla, asi tienes mango largo o corto en uno

Tengo una Aristocrat de oro (1950) comprada a un ingles de las islas Loofothen , que presenta una zona de desgaste del oro precisamente en ese punto, justo detras de la zona de roscado … 
. Es el unico defecto que tiene pero … son los años de uso de su anterior dueño
Pero no un acero inox. cualquiera @michel, si no que es un 316l, brutal, en cuanto al gap, 0.53 tiene la joya, apura suavemente, por diseño hay que ponerse las gafas de sol para verla, de precio ya ni hablo, rompe todos los esquemas sobre una maquinilla de acero inoxidable, esta Mamba esta regalada, criticas y reviews todas buenas, al estilo de la 6s

He marcado la parte de arriba, no es así exactamente, pero casi.
Los mangos largos, digamos cojo dedos índice, corazón y anular, es decir, los tres del medio, por la parte media-alta, quedando como 1cm hasta el cabezal, haciendo ‘la pinza’ con el pulgar por debajo y el meñique por debajo también haciendo por decir de alguna manera de contrapeso, prácticamente acaparo casi todo el mango .
En los cortos tipo la Fatip, lo suelo coger más pegado al cabezal con to los deos pegaicos

By holding the razor at the correct position, the weight of the cutting head allows the blade to track along the skin, providing the most comfortable and efficient cutting action possible.The way to hold a razor varies slightly depending on the style of handle you choose. Most popular safety razors available today, such as Merkur, Edwin Jagger, Parker, etc., are available in both long-handled and standard models. The different handle lengths combined with the weight of the razors cutting head determine the best finger placement when holding the razor. The following are basic illustrations of how to hold the two models described in the article, Your First Razor.
Short Grip – Merkur 34C Heavy Duty Classic
The Merkur 34C is a good example of a standard model safety razor. The razor features a wider diameter handle, but has the shorter length that allows it to feel well balanced in your hand when held properly. The release knob at the bottom of the razor provides the ideal point to grip the razor securely. The best technique is to use three fingers, the index, middle, and thumb, to secure the razor at the bottom of the handle. For the downward cutting motion, as you would do for your first pass with the grain, hold the razor similarly to how you would hold a dart.Cutting in an upward direction stroke, against the grain, requires an adjustment, however. For this position, use the thumb and index finger to secure the base of the razor near the knob and allow the barrel of the handle to rest on the middle finger. This keeps the razor stable and secure when making the more awkward upward strokes during your shave. Long Grip – Merkur 23C Long-Handle Classic
The Merkur 23C has a more traditional width handle that is longer in length than the 34c. The longer length handle allows for more grip space so the finger placement has to be slightly modified in order to maintain the right balance in your hand. Although it does not rotate, there is still a knob at the end of the razor that provides an ideal place to securely grip the razor. Unlike the short-handle razors, the best technique for gripping the long handle is to use four fingers. For the downward cutting motion, hold the razor with the thumb, middle, and ring finger applying pressure at the bottom near the knob. Allow the index finger to rest above your other fingers, against the handle, to add additional support to the razor. This provides a secure grip anchored at the base of the handle while also compensating for the additional length of the handle.For the upward cutting motion, secure the razor with the thumb and index finger at the knob end the same way you would for the short handle. Allow the barrel of the razor to rest against the ring finger while the middle finger provides additional support towards the base. This finger position maintains the stability at the base of the handle and prevents excess pressure at the cutting head. Similar to the technique used with the upward cutting grip on the short handle razor, the fingers are extended a bit further up the length of the handle but grip pressure is maintained at the knob where it should be.

Esa es la dinámica de la maquinilla de afeitar de seguridad.
Mi análisis parte de una novedad que ya está presente desde hace algún tiempo en el moderno afeitado húmedo. El cambio en la forma del mango, ya no es una T central como en las Gillettes contemporáneas de Fusion en adelante. La técnica detrás explica cómo la nueva forma, junto con el ángulo preestablecido de la cabeza, ayuda a la ejecución. De hecho, además del ángulo de incidencia, la piedra angular de todo el proceso, el otro detalle es el control de la presión.
Este tipo de agarre muy atrás sirve precisamente para favorecer el control de los dos parámetros clave.
El ángulo de puntería de la hoja se ve favorecido por un mango largo y ligero. Sobre todo en los pases contra la gravedad. El gesto se funde con el objeto, que se convierte en una extensión natural.
El agradable efecto secundario es un BBS cómodo, rápido y duradero.
También gracias a esto, hoy mi paladín es un objeto simple.
No es un instrumento mítico y de élite, sino un conjunto de piezas seleccionadas.
Por mí, basado en mi experiencia que comparto aquí.
Pero ha vencido a un buen número de monstruos sagrados.
